Concerning giving to the saints, I need not write,
For I know your readiness, which I often cite.
Still, I've sent brethren to you lest our boasting's in vain -
If we come, and you're unprepared, we'd all face shame!
May your gift be bountiful, not giv'n grudgingly:
According as you sow, so shall it be to thee.
God loves a cheerful giver, can meet all your needs,
Enrich in all things, and multiply your seeds.
Your generosity'll cause thanksgiving to God
As through us are met the needs of the saints abroad.
They glorify God for you, and keen prayers lift.
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
