Macedonian churches, in deep poverty,
Are giving, past their means, for the saints, lib'rally.
Hence we've urged Titus, who launched, to complete as well
Your giving program, so in all things you excel.
Though I'm not commanding, give in love, like Jesus,
Who, rich, became poor, to bestow His wealth on us.
Complete the giving you began a year ago,
Willingly, not o'er-burdened - give as you can, so
Your surplus meets needs now; this may reverse one day.
To administer your gift, Titus comes your way
With two brethren - good workers - sent to oversee;
Show them the proof of your love, why we boast of thee.
