New Testament

II Corinthians Chapter 7

Be holy, fearing God; receive us, we've wronged none,
I say that not to condemn - you're held in affection -
I'm most proud of you, filled with much joy midst suff'ring,
For in Macedonia, with us ill-faring,
Titus brought word from you that the letter I'd sent
Had caused you godly grief, and led you to repent.
Worldly grief brings death, not salvation as yours did -
For on every charge you've been exonerated.
I wrote not due to he who'd sinned, or who'd wronged been,
But that our care for you under God might be seen.
We joyed too since Titus (as we'd forewarned!) was blessed -
You received him with reverence - he was refreshed!
