Do we need, as some, letters of commendation?
You're our letters, not on stone, but on hearts written
With the Spirit's ink! In God, not our strength, we're sent,
And through Him we minister the New Testament;
Not the letter of the law, which condemns and kills,
But that of the Spirit, which newness of life wills!
The former, passing, "shone" - Moses needed a veil -
But pales before the latter, which will never pale!
We may speak plain - Christ has moved the veil - it's old news,
Which, now, for a time, blinds the minds of unsaved Jews.
The Lord's Spirit brings freedom; as His face we see,
We're changed to His likeness, from glory to glory!
