I preached Christ crucified to you, my speech not "fine",
Nervous and fearful, in the Spirit's strength, not mine,
That your faith stand through God's power, not men's wisdom -
Though we have wisdom, it's not the world's, which will come
To naught, but we speak God's wisdom, hid, a myst'ry
Had men known, they'd not have crucified the Lord of glory!
God's prepared, for those who love Him, things hid, as writ,
But we know them, for they're revealed by His Spirit
Who alone knows, and we've received Him to know too,
God's things, taught (not by man's wisdom!) through Him to you -
For spiritual things the natural man will find
Foolish; not those spiritual - us - with Christ's mind.
