New Testament

Mark Chapter 7

Pharisees spurned Christ's men who ate with unwashed hands;
Christ said "You practice tradition, not God's commands!
A man's not defiled by things without, but within!"
Meaning wrong thoughts from men's hearts are sin's origin.
To Tyre and Sidon Christ went, where a Greek lady
Urged Him heal her devil-possessed daughter. Her plea:
"E'en Gentile dogs eat Jewish crumbs from their table!"
When she went home, her daughter was well and able.
A deaf man was brought, whose bad speech was "double dutch".
Christ stuck His fingers in his ears, and his tongue touched.
Then He cried "Be opened!" The man heard and spake clear!
"Don't spread the news!" Christ urged. But men did, everywhere!
