New Testament

II Timothy Chapter 2

Be strong, my son; pass on my words for others to teach,
A tough soldier for Christ, one free from this world's reach.
For the crown, one runs right; for first-fruits, farmers strive;
Consider my words and remember : Christ's alive!
Chained, thought a criminal, for the saints I suffer,
But the lord's faithful - we'll reign with Him e'er after!
Ban fruitless arguments; study rightly the Word,
Not like Hymaneus and Philetus, who've erred
Thinking the resurrection has gone, some fooling -
But God knows His own; let all who own Christ shun sin!
Be a vessel for the Lord; flee youthful lusts, pure;
Avoid strife, meek, patient; pull men from satan's lure.
