New Testament

II Timothy Chapter 1

Paul, to Timothy, my dear son: mercy, peace, grace.
I pray always for you, longing to see your face,
Recalling your tears, and your genuine faith from
Your grandmother Lois, and Eunice your mum.
Stir up God's gift, by my hands laid, in suff'ring share -
God's Spirit brings pow'r, love, and a sound mind, not fear.
We're saved by grace, not works. Called, suff'ring, bold for Christ,
I know Him - He'll keep all I've given Him in life.
Hold to sound doctrine. Those in Asia have spurned me,
Like Phgelles and Hermogones; blessed be he
Who sought me, chained, while in Rome - Onesiphorus -
He also blessed me, as you know, at Ephesus.
