Brethren, my heart's desire is that Israel be saved,
But they're ignorant of God's ways, though Him they've craved.
They try hard to make themselves righteous, I confess,
But Jesus Christ concludes the law for righteousness.
Moses said that those who obey the law shall live,
But the righteousness of faith is nigh: these words give:
Confess Jesus Lord, and raised by God from the grave,
For whosoever calls on His Name God will save.
But to call or believe one must first hear Him preached,
For without a preacher sent how shall men be reached?
Faith comes by hearing when God's word has been displayed,
But Israel's heard the gospel, and not obeyed.
