In Jerusalem, Saul the saints persecuted -
But they spread the word abroad as they were routed!
In Samaria Philip great miracles wrought,
E'en Simon, revered sorcerer, salvation sought!
Peter and John came, and made the new believers,
Through laying on of hands, Holy Ghost receivers!
Simon offered money so he could do the same,
But Peter rebuked him! He repented, with shame.
Philip, angel-directed to Gaza, made sure
An Ethiopian, Queen Candace's treas'rer,
Going home, chariot driven, reading with "blind" eyes,
Found Christ from Isaiah's prophecies; him baptized.
