One Ananias, with wife Sapphira, sold land,
And brought only part of the cash, not all in hand.
Peter rebuked the man, afterwards his wife,
Told them they'd lied to God - Who took each life.
Signs and wonders by the apostles' hands were done -
E'en Peter's shadow was sought! All were healed, each one.
Then the High Priest, and the Sadducees, wroth, jailed tight
The apostles, but an angel freed them the night!
Next morning, in the Temple, they preached! Once again
The authorities took them, and wanted them slain,
But Gamaliel said, no, this may be of God!
Beaten and warned, they still spread "The Good News" abroad!
