New Testament

Acts Chapter 23

To the council Paul said: "Brethren, I've lived upright..."
Ananias, High Priest, had Paul struck! "You God'll smite!"
Paul cried, then said "Sorry, his office I knew not."
"My case concerns resurrection!" he added - got
The life-after-death believers, the Pharisees
To turn on skeptics and rivals, the Sadducees.
That night Jesus said to Paul, still in custody:
"You were my rep, Jerusalem, in Rome you'll be!"
Paul then learnt forty Jews were plotting to slay him
Through his sister's son, whom he had tell the captain.
He was sent by night, with heavy guard, to Felix,
Gov'nor, Caesaria, with a note on his fix.
