The former treatise, O Theophilus, I wrote
Of all Jesus began to do and teach of note.
After his resurrection, to his men he said:
"You'll be baptised with the Holy Ghost soon ahead.
Receiving power you'll witness to me all o'er."
Then a cloud took Him up and He was seen no more.
Two angels said: "Ye men, why stand ye gazing so?
One day He'll come back the same way you saw Him go."
From the Mount of Olives they travelled for prayer
To an upper room, Jerusalem - six score there.
Judas Iscariot's apostleship was changed
And replacing him with Matthias was arranged.
