New Testament

I Thessalonians Chapter 2

First treated badly at Philippi, we then came
Your way, preaching bold, 'mid much strife, but not in vain.
No deceit or guile - we pleased God (not man!) purely,
No flattering, coveting, or seeking glory;
Like a nurse with children, with you we were gentle,
For you we'd have giv'n our lives, not just the gospel.
We laboured night and day, role models for you all,
Like a Dad, urging you walk worthy of God's call.
We thank God for the way you received the Good News -
Not like those who killed Jesus - unbelieving Jews
Who incur God's wrath - no, you're our glory and joy,
Though hind'ring our trips to you has been satan's ploy.
