New Testament

Philippians Chapter 3

Finally, my brethren, be happy in the Lord!
I don't mind repeating the same words - they're your safeguard.
Shun those who'd cut your flesh - by Christ we're circumcised,
And I know it's not in the flesh salvation lies,
For I'm a Benjamite Hebrew, a Pharisee,
Once persecuting the church, perfect legally,
But now I've lost all things, count them dung, to gain Christ,
And, by faith, true righteousness and eternal life.
Though I'm not yet perfect, I leave the past behind,
And press towards His high calling; with a like mind
Follow after me, not those who mind earthly things.
Look to heaven: Christ by His pow'r your new body brings.
