Fill me with joy - live in unity and love, in one mind,
Be humble, unselfish, like Christ, who, though divine,
Lowered Himself to flesh, dying with the cross' shame,
Which is why God'll ensure each knee bows to His Name.
Work out your salvation with fear; God works in you;
Fight not amongst yourselves, but shine forth as lights true.
Hold forth the Word of life, and e'en to martyr's pain
I'll joy, and you with me - we'll not have worked in vain.
I'll soon send Timothy to visit, then myself,
But first Epaphroditus comes, back from ill health.
Receive him with all joy, since in your stead, for Christ,
In minist'ring to me, he nearly lost his life.
