New Testament

I Corinthians Chapter 8

Concerning food offered idols - whether to eat -
Be wise, and act in love, before eating such meat.
An idol, we know, is nothing special or odd,
Though many are called such, there is only one God.
But some men, lacking knowledge, their weak conscience riled,
Feel that by eating the said meat they'll be "defiled".
To God, eating or not, we're no better or worse,
But before eating, think of the weak brother first.
Don't let your freeness be a stumbling block to him,
Beware lest he copies and eats, thinking it sin.
You sin if your actions hurt a weak brother,
If my eating would do this, then I'll not bother.
