New Testament

Romans Chapter 13

Submit to those in authority over you,
They're God ordained: resist not, or else fight God too.
You'll be damned if your resist, fear them as you should,
For they bear God's sword for those who're evil, not good.
Pay tribute and taxes; in debts be without flaw,
Owe naught but love, for he that loves fulfills the law.
For the law, down to "covet not thy neighbour's wealth",
Is summarized thus: love thy neighbour as thyself.
High time to awake, put on the armour of light,
Salvation is at hand, cast off the works of night.
Walk pure, not in rioting, drink, or wantonness,
But put on Christ; provide not for lusts of the flesh.
