New Testament

Luke Chapter 19

In Jericho, chief tax-collector Zacchaeus,
Rich, short, climbed a sycamore tree to spot Jesus.
Christ saw him, to his house invited Himself o'er,
And heard, pleased, he'd change, give half his cash to the poor!
Christ said "A nobleman, with foes, from land distant,
Came with Kingdom; He'd left a pound with each servant -
One'd gained ten, one five, one naught; the first two He praised
And rewarded; the last censored, His foes erased!"
With His men praising loud, Christ neared Jerusalem
From the Mount of Olives on an ass, not hushing them!
Beholding the city's blindness to Him, He wept,
Cleansed the Temple of traders (thieves!), and lectures kept.
