I write, Theophilus, to confirm what you've learnt... In Herod's days, priest Zacharias incense burnt When the angel Gabriel appeared, and him told His wife Elizabeth'd bear a son, John, though old. The priest, for doubting, was struck dumb till the birth came, While his wife's cousin, a virgin, Mary by name Was told by Gabriel that JESUS she'd conceive, Who'd be called the Son of God - and she did believe. When the two women met, foetus John, in womb, leapt; Both women prophesied, by the Holy Ghost swept. Zacharias too prophesied as John was born, That God had visited, raising salvation's horn.
