I saw a new heav'n and earth (with no sea) appear And the holy city, new Jerusalem, near... "Behold," I heard, "God is now with men abiding, And there'll be no more sorrow, pain, death, or crying!" I saw the holy city with God's glory shine, Its foundations composed of precious stones divine. The city lies foursquare, of equal length and breadth, With a thick and high wall, and it has equal depth. The street thereof was pure gold, like transparent glass, Twelve gates of pearl, always open to let saints pass. None who defile shall e'er enter this, the Lamb's wife, Only those who are written in His book of life.
