To the beginning of things, we may bear witness:
We've seen, heard, touched, the Word of Life made manifest;
That eternal life that with the Father once dwelt
Was revealed to us; we have seen, and heard, and felt.
We declare this that ye may fellowship with us,
And also with the Father and His Son Jesus.
And these things we write, that your joy be full therein;
This our message: God is light, no darkness within.
If we say we know Him, and yet in darkness walk,
Then we're lying: our fellowship must match our talk.
If we say we're sinless, we're deceived; it's not true,
If we confess our sins, He forgives; cleanses too.
