Lampstand, table, shewbread the first sanct'ry did mark,
While the second, Holiest, veiled, with censor, ark,
Pot, Aaron's rod, tablets, mercy seat, cherubims,
Was broached by High Priests but once a year, through off'rings.
The Holy Ghost thus showed these and their rules temp'ral -
But Christ, High Priest of a greater tabernacle,
Wrought, spotless, through blood, not of mere creatures, but His,
Our eternal redemption, clean conscience, service.
Through Christ's death, in effect a new will came to be,
His blood sprinkling, not a man-made, but heav'n's sanct'ry.
Dying once, He needs no repeated sin off'ring -
Man dies once and is judged; Christ'll come for those in Him.
