Consider Jesus, Our High Priest and Apostle,
Who, like Moses, served in God's house, being faithful:
Whereas Moses served thus as a servant, Jesus
Served as a Son, and He built the house, which is us.
So, says the Holy Ghost, listen to Him today;
Do not harden your hearts, like those who went astray -
Tempting, grieving God, forty years in wilderness,
Whom God swore would never enter His rest.
Take heed, lest similar unbelief lurks within,
Exhort others daily, be not hardened by sin.
Hold on to Christ, don't provoke God like your forbears,
Who through unbelief missed His rest for forty years.
