New Testament

Philemon

Paul, prisoner of Christ, and brother Timothy,
To Philemon, Apphia, Archippus, and company:
We joy, for your faith and love is well spoken of,
So what I could ask in Christ, I beseech in love:
As a jailed old man, I plead for Onesimus,
Your former slave, now my special son in Jesus.
He'll profit us both now, though he's failed you before;
Receive as me; if he's wronged you, cancel the score.
Should he owe you aught, charge me instead, I'll repay,
And I know you'll go beyond even what I say.
Pray I'll come, make lodgings - greetings from Epaphras,
And Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, and Lucas.
