In the beginning was the Word, with God, and God.
He made all things; in Him life, men's light, shone abroad.
He came to His own; by them He was not received,
But those who received Him, that on His Name believed,
He gave the pow'r to become God's sons, born, not of
Blood, nor man's will, but by the will of God above.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. We
Beheld His glory, that of Father's only
Begotten, full of grace and truth. Of His fullness
We have all received. The law was giv'n by Moses,
But by Jesus Christ, there has come truth and grace,
And, from Father's bosom, what none have seen: God's face.
