Old Testament

Habakkuk

Habukkuk, three chapters long, queries in his book:
"Lord, why is there injustice everywhere I look?"
"I'll raise up the Babylonians!" God replied,
Who'll come and swiftly judge, casting strongholds aside!"
The prophet asked: "Why use an unholy nation?
"I'll set up watch, and wait for an explanation!"
"Though the vision tarry, wait for it!" the Lord saith,
Reminding him that the just shall live by his faith.
One day, the Lord promised, as waters o'er the sea,
Earth will be filled with the knowledge of God's glory!
In chapter three, a prayer-psalm, the prophet says
E'en though all go 'gainst him, he'll still joy, full of praise!
