Old Testament

Joel

Joel (3 chapters), prophet, highlights a famine,
From a locusts' plague in Judah, as God damming.
"Blow the trumpet in Zion, sound alarm!" he cries,
'Fore the dark day of the Lord comes as a surprise!
"Turn to Me", the Lord pleads, "with fasting weep, and mourn!"
"Rend your hearts, not your garments!" is the message borne.
Last days, God'll pour His Spirit on all and sundry:
Men, women'll prophesy; young, dreams, old, visions see;
The sun, moon, and stars will all be darkened as God
To Jehosophat's valley, nations from abroad
Gathers, and for His people their Hope and Strength pleads,
When the hills will "flow with milk" as He meets their needs.
