New Testament

I Corinthians Chapter 13

If with all human and angelic tongues I'm blessed,
Prophesy, all wisdom, knowledge, and faith possess,
Give my body to be burnt, my goods to the poor,
And have not love, I'm an empty sound, nothing more.
Love is long-suffering, kind, humble, not puffed up,
Modest, not selfish, slow to let anger erupt,
Thinks no evil, rejoices in the truth, shuns "tales",
All things bears, believes, hopes, endures, and never fails.
Prophecies, tongues, knowledge: one day these will fade,
When what's perfect comes - right now we see in the shade
Dim reflections till we know as we're known above -
But faith, hope, love will last; and the foremost is love.
