Acts Chapter 19

   

At Corinth Apollos preached; to Ephesus came
Paul, baptizing John's disciples (twelve) in Christ's Name.
He lay hands on them - they spoke in tongues and prophecied.
He preached there two years, signs and wonders alongside.
His handkerchiefs healed; evil spirits fled - this "trick"
Sev'n sons of Sceva tried to copy, but ran quick,
Attacked, hearing: "Jesus I know, and Paul! Who're ye?"
News spread: converts burnt their magic books publicly.
Hoping to see Greece and Rome, Paul sent Erastus
And Timothy ahead; meanwhile Demetrius
A silversmith, led a mob-based short-lived tirade:
The Christians were spoiling his idol-making trade!
