Seeing the rich cast gifts in the Treasury chest,
Christ valued the two mites a widow gave highest!
Prophesying the Temple's destruction, He said
"False Christs, wars, famines, pestilences lie ahead -
You'll be persecuted, Jerusalem compassed
With armies - then look up - redemption's nigh at last!
From strange signs in the heavens men'll be filled with fear,
Then see, in cloud, with pow'r, the Son of man appear!
The fig tree's growth will tell you summer's coming by,
Likewise when you see the signs, know God's Kingdom's nigh!
Heav'n and earth will pass, but not my words! Watch and pray
To be spared, and stand 'fore the Son of man that day!"
