New Testament

I Timothy Chapter 2

I urge prayers for all, 'specially those who head,
That there be peace; God wants this, and the gospel spread.
There's but one mediator between God and us,
Who gave Himself a ransom for all: Christ Jesus!
For Whom I'm ordained an apostle, a preacher
And to the Gentiles, in faith and truth, a teacher.
I wish all men, lifting up holy hands, would pray,
And women good works, rather than fine clothes, display.
Let them man's authority quietly receive:
Adam was formed first, and deception came to Eve.
Still, women shall be saved in their childbearing role
If they make faith and love and holiness their goal.
